The Cheapest Toronto Phone Numbers

  • Mood:

1. How Cheap a Toronto Phone Number Can Be?

How cheap a Toronto Phone Number can be? As cheap as $25, not per month, but $25 per year. This price is offered by a Toronto VoIP provider Vbuzzer. Until the day I write this blog, I can’t find any service provider, traditional or VoIP, who can beat Vbuzzer’s $25 mark. Here are more details about $25 Toronto phone number http://www.vbuzzer.com/blog/voip-service/toronto-phone-number-25year.html

2. How Reliable of Vbuzzer Toronto Phone Numbers?

Very reliable, as reliable as a traditional Bell phone. In the last three years of using it, it has a couple of downtimes but my office landline phone has more number of downtime. So this VoIP phone number is at least as robust as a pot line, if not better.

3. How to Get it?

Getting it is easy, go to this website http://www.vbuzzer.com download the software in order to register an account, then login your account on the web, make a payment of $25, you can then select the service you want – select the $25 Toronto Phone Number for a year. Bingo, you are done! In a matter of seconds, you will get a Toronto phone number with a 416 area code, and start receiving calls made to this number immediately.

4. How Can I Receive Phone Calls with This Number?

Simple, give this number to your friends or business contact, let them call you. You have 4 ways to receive the calls made to your new Toronto phone number:

#1 You can pick it up from your personal computer, with a set of headset, of course

#2 You can configure and install a VoIP ATA adaptor to receive calls on a hardware phone set.

#3 You can set call forward within your account, to forward calls to your cell phone, your home phone, or your office phone etc.

#4 If your call slip through all the above options, you will receive a voicemail in MP3 format forwarded to your email.

5. How Can I Make Outgoing Phone Calls with This Number?

You can’t, unless you make extra deposit into your account, because this $25/year plan is only for a phone number with unlimited incoming capacity, but without outgoing capacity. If you figure you need to make outgoing calls, you have a few easy options too:

Option One - make $10 online payment and choose pay as you go, Vbuzzer per minute calling rate is pretty low: $0.015 per minute to Canada and US…and low to other countries

Option Two - make $25 online payment and choose a unlimited Toronto plan, in total it will be $50, you get a Toronto phone number with unlimited outgoing calls, to city Toronto, of course. Oh wait a minute, the outgoing areas do cover some GTA areas.

6. What Other Functions Shall I Expect from The Number?

You can get a few very useful functions, for free.

Call Display – Caller ID

Call Forward – Forward calls to your cell, your home phone, office phone etc.

Call Fork – Fork calls to your cell, home, office phones simultaneously

Voicemail to email in mp3 format

7. Can I Use a Linksys VoIP Adaptor to Couple with The Number?

Yes you can, you can refer this configuration guide:

http://www.vbuzzer.com/blog/linksys-pap2-configuration-guide

Canada Calling Card

  • Mood:
  • Music:

Calling card has been a long standing business in Canada, since the deregulation in the long distance market in 1980s. Coupled with flux of immigrants and boom of internet, Canada phone card business has undergone a curve of early adoption (1990s), mass reception (2000-2002), and recession (2003-). I use the word “recession” as the calling cards as a whole are facing strong competition from alternative products like Vonage, Skype, who developed millions of customers from 2003.

My view of the calling card business is pessimistic, although they are still widely popular among many ethnic users, they are facing some serious problems, unless these problems are being addressed and solved, they will continue to lose market share week after week, month after month, and year after year.

Problem 1 – Distribution Channel verus Direct Sales

Before the cards can be sold to consumers, they first need to be physically produced in plastic cards, then shipped to all the retail stores, then sold to buyers in cash. In the internet era, all the distribution networks can be avoided, a service provider can simply sell calling cards on the web – because the critical part of a card is the PIN – and the PIN is just a series of numbers that you can deliver to emails or SMS electronically. Actually, in Canada there are some electronic calling cards (http://www.vbuzzer.com/calling_card.php ) like Vbuzzer. Compared to the web to consumer business model, traditional calling card will have a hard time to compete as their networks are indirect and more expensive – which means they can’t compete in price.

Problem 2 – Hidden Fees

Every time you look at a calling card poster, you are gonna learn a few more tricks how to apply hidden charges – connection fees, no connections fees but administrative fees, higher price after 3 minutes, per minute billing, or very early expiry days etc. They reflect the harsh business environment of the whole industry, if they sell in straight terms, they will look very expensive, which means nobody will buy the cards, so they have to cheat…

In contrast, in the direct selling mode, for example, web to consumers, cheating is not popular, the vendors avoided a lot of expenses in the distribution channel so they still do fair business.

Problem 3 – Inconvenience of use

Of course, when you need to dial a 10-digit access number, then a 9-digit PIN, then another 10-digit or 13-digit international phone number, the whole process isn’t very pleasant, right? Not to mention that you have no call history that you can check up, no bills to show your usage, etc. It is okay when you don’t have other alternatives to save money, but for many people it becomes increasingly bothersome to use the product.

Problem 4 – Competition

This is big, and real. Whenever I open a web page I can see Vonage ads, Skype ads, or somebody else’s ads. A lot money has been thrown into the internet phone business, or pc to phone business, and the money has helped developing millions of customers, this means calling cards have lost a few million customers in the last few years. I try not to be too pessimistic, but I can’t paint a brighter future for the industry when it faces such strong competitors.

Maybe I’m biased, or maybe I’m simply not possessing the knowledge the industry players are possessing, nonetheless, I can’t see any light in the tunnel for the calling card business in Canada.

Dialing Canada Really Cheap

  • Mood:

In general, Canada is very friendly towards VoIP technology, so if you live inside Canada as I do, you must have a long list of telecom carriers that offer you good rates to call Canada. But if you are outside of Canada and want to call your families and friends inside, you probably don’t have any handy options to call cheap. A little clarification first: by saying “call cheap", here I mean the calling rate to be under 5 cents per minute.

So what are the quick options, if any? To me nothing is quicker than downloading a pc to phone software, deposit some bucks, then start calling. If you have the similar mindset we can narrow our search to an array of VoIP software for worldwide internet users. Let’s take a quick look at them:

1.    Skype

Skype is quite popular nowadays, and it’s no mistake to go with Skype, the price is 2.1 cent, but with VAT added, it will be 2.4 cent per minute. Skype also offers an unlimited calling plan but it has nothing to do with you – it only offers to North American users where phone calls are already cheap. So you have to go with Skype’s pay as you go plan.

Upside: popular, sound quality and pricing.

Downside: none

2.    Vbuzzer

Vbuzzer is a Canadian product, it offers cheaper rate than Skype does when dialing Canada (http://www.vbuzzer.com/ld/callcanada.php) - 1.5 cent per minute. It means 40% cheaper than Skype, and with $10 deposit, you can almost double your calling time with Vbuzzer then with Skype. In terms of quality, Vbuzzer is slightly better than Skype, in voice clarity, much better in voice consistency, according to my experience.

Upside: excellent quality, good pricing, also an excellent instant messenger with multi protocol support.

Downside: none, except as a Canadian company, I don’t know why they are charging fees in US Dollars.

3.    Betamax series

I call it Betamax service because it has many affiliate websites, all with voipxxx.com such as voipbuster, voipcheap etc. Believe me there are a lot of them. Each of the sites, at their early launches, are typically offer free minutes to many countries: US, Canada, UK, and many other European countries. Once they build up the user volume, they will require you to make a $10/$20 deposit and they tell you it is good for the next, say, 4 months of free call. You are happy so you make the deposit, but it happens that you don’t call a lot in the next 4 months, Betamax is then charging the full payment and raise their price to very high. Then the next site will be born shortly, if not simultaneously.
As a user, you can play their game by searching the new born site, and take advantage of their “free promotion" – but don’t make any deposit as they may require, because you simply don’t need to, why pay them when there will be always new promotions ahead?

Upside: free or very cheap minutes when promoting
Downside: questionable business practice of revoking deposit and raising price

4.    Yahoo Voice

Yahoo Instant Messenger is a very popular IM, but I have no stats to show how popular Yahoo Voice is, it could have millions of users, but not myself yet. In writing this blog, I checked Yahoo Voice website, and surprisingly find that their call Canada rate is very cheap, 1 cent per minute, yes one cent per minute. I probably should try it next time. This company has very broad product lines, but the problem is that none is dominant. What a pity!

Upside: no comments as I have no direct experience
Downside: no comments as I have no direct experience

Vbuzzer Enables Unlimited Toronto Cell Phone Calls

  • Mood:
  • Music:

Now you can make unlimited mobile phone calls within Greater Toronto Area.

http://www.vbuzzer.com/ld/torontocellphone.php

Introduction

At an extra $20 per month, Vbuzzer call back service allow you to make unlimited “outgoing” calls within Greater Toronto Area, as long as you have an unlimited incoming plan to bundle with it. This means you can have a unlimited Toronto city calling plan at a total of $45/month (the unlimited incoming plan will typically cost you $25).

Toronto cell phone users have to, as their fellow Canadians, pay higher fees for cellular phone calls, there is no unlimited city calling plan being offered, and even an unlimited incoming plan can easily cost them $35/month. Compared to the $99/month unlimited domestic calls that US consumers can get, Canadian mobile phone plans are pathetic. But things have changed recently, a cell phone call back service offered by Vbuzzer (http://www.vbuzzer.com/ld/torontocellphone.php ) offers great value for heavy mobile phone users in Greater Toronto Area.

Price of Unlimited Mobile Calls

Now with Vbuzzer Cell Phone Call Back Service, you can make unlimited mobile phone calls at a total cost of $45/month - $20 for Vbuzzer Callback and $25 for unlimited incoming plan from your cellular carrier. The service is pretty easy to use too: it requires you to dial a local 416 access number from your cell phone, then hang up when you hear a busy tone, the system will instantly call you back and prompt you to enter your destination number. Once you enter it, the system will connect the call for you. This way, technically both you and the person you called are receiving calls from Vbuzzer Call Back System.

Local Calling Area

From my experience the “local area” is the same as Bell Canada’s Toronto Local Areas – all 416, 647 area codes are covered, many 905 areas are included too, some are not covered, these are typically distance 905 regions like York Regions (Aurora, New Market, etc.) Durham region (Whiteby etc.)

Other Calling Areas

The $20/month allows me to call Montreal and Ottawa for free! It is really sweet, although they didn’t make it official but they didn’t block or charge such long distance calls.

The Chip

For some GSM phones, there are very thin chips that can be embedded into the SIM card seal, the chips function to automate the process, so you just enter the destination number and press “call” button, the chips work behind the scene to complete the call back process for you, you will be automatically called back and get calls connected.

It offers great convenience, I bought a chip from Vbuzzer for a one-time $25, and I love to use the call back since then, as it is super easy and effortless.

Service Quality

The service is very stable. I use it for 3 months and made a lot of phone calls, saving a lot of money, and never had a single downtime.

Here is a video to explain how the cell phone callback works.

Vbuzzer Toronto Phone Service at $50/year

  • Mood:
  • Music:

Vbuzzer Toronto Phone Service at $50/year

Top quality Toronto phone service at lowest price provided by Vbuzzer only, pay only $50/year and get a Toronto phone line instantly.

 Vbuzzer Toronto Phone Service

We usually expect two things from a phone service: solid quality and good price, and I can find both in Vbuzzer, a Toronto based VoIP company that offers very reliable voip service at very good price.

In terms of quality, I've been using Vbuzzer with a 416 phone number of 416 area code for 3 years now, the service is very robust and reliable, everytime I pick up my phone adaptor I will have my dial tone. And when I call Greater Toronto Area, the quality is the same as the Bell phone I used to have in my home, my friends can't tell the difference either.

That's why I've recommended vbuzzer to many friends, many of them signup vbuzzer, and use it with a VoIP ATA adaptor as a second phone line, some even use it as primary phone line.

Here is a video clip of Vbuzzer's Toronto Phone Service

Another cool thing is its rock bottom price - $50/year for a Toronto phone service with caller ID, call forward, voicemail, and you can have call history even on local phone calls sent and received. Isn't it cool?

Sign up is like a breeze, a few clicks and enter your credit card information online, you will get a Toronto phone number (416 area code) within a few minutes.

Vbuzzer is a software based VoIP, but it supports open standard SIP, that means you can configure a VoIP ATA adaptor to work with your vbuzzer account. Known adaptors that work with vbuzzer pretty well are Linksys PAP2, Grandstream, and Cisco ATA186 etc. you can find and buy the items on ebay.com, if you live in GTA, you can also find local ATA vendors on vbuzzer website.

$50/year for a Toronto phone line is a stunning price - half of the cheapest VoIP alternatives in town. For many Canadians telephone service is still expensive and they have to pay more than their US counterparts, Vbuzzer changed the landscape with a solid quality, that's why Vbuzzer is highly recommended.

For more information about Vbuzzer's Toronto phone line, you can visit their website

How to Get Vbuzzer Toronto Phone Service?

To get the best Toronto phone service is really easy, just go to vbuzzer website. All it takes is to download the software, register an account, use your credit card to make a $50 online payment. In seconds, you will get a brand new Toronto phone number with 416 area code. No waiting, no hassling, straight acquisition.

When to Get Vbuzzer Toronto Phone Service?

The quick answer is: immediately. The price is so good that it can be sold out fast. You don't want to miss the opportunity.

Toronto Phone Service for Local Calls?

Yes you can make local phone calls with this toronto phone number including 416, 647 and some 905 areas. In short, all GTA areas that Bell Canada considers to be local calling areas are included.

You should note that 411 and 911 calls are not possible with vbuzzer, because it is a software program running on your personal computer, it is not a replacement of your traditional phones.
